There are some important essential elements that are required to be fulfilled for Muay Thai training apart from running, warming up etc. They are talked about in detail here:

Skipping – The first and foremost of these elements is skipping. It gives the body stamina and it also results in its co ordination. To keep the mind alert as well as relaxed, skipping by rounds should be done. It should be kept in mind that when skipping is done in a hopping way, bouncing should not be done on two feet.

Shadow boxing: Another essential in learning the Muay Thai technique properly in shadow boxing. It is done in front of a mirror so that the movements can be observed and corrected. Shadow boxing should be done in the same way as you’re punching a boxing bag. The punch or the kick should not be shortened while doing this exercise instead full range should be used.

Free weights: The usage of dumb-bells in your Muay Thai training will help to build strength. The best way is to use the lighter weights with repetitions. If free weights and fixed weights are to be compared, free weights always work as an advantage as the range of movement does not become limited. But remember that such training should be done very carefully to avoid injury.
