The Boss’s Daughter Bought Four Used HP Servers
For the past four years, I have been in charge of the computer department in my office. I have never been allowed to just make any purchases I wanted to, unless I first cleared it with management, no matter how badly we needed the new machine or part to fix a machine.
I was shocked to find out that the boss’s daughter was going to be coming to work in the computer department over the summer and that she would be my assistant. I guess that she does know a lot about computers since that is what she is studying in college.
The first week that she was there, she bought four used hp servers and did not clear it with anyone. Since she signed her name to all of the orders that went out for the used proliant servers, everyone knew who had ordered them. I helped her switch out the old used hp servers and the office was going around thanking her for taking the initiative of ordering something that was making the whole office work more efficiently.
I had known for years that we needed to buy some used proliant servers but since I had such a hard time getting anyone to even sign off on little things such as routers and keyboards, I never thought that we had the option to put them in.
