Deciding Who To Sell Old Scrap Jewelry To
I was trying to find a local place that I could sell scrap jewelry to. I had numerous pieces that were broken or missing stones. I just mainly wanted to see how much the gold would be worth on them since gold is in such high demand right now. I have noticed a lot of the really nice upper end jewelry stores with signs that say they will buy gold but I wonder if that would include old scrap gold pieces.
If I do sell scrap jewelry to the local stores, I want to make sure that it is destroyed and not fixed up and then resold. Some of these pieces were given to me by my parents and I would never want to see someone else wearing them. So if I am sell old jewelry then I want to completely sell it to be melted down into something that I will not recognize once it is refigured.
A friend of mine told me about a website that says you can sell old jewelry to them and they will pay you top dollar for it. The site also goes on to explain what they do exactly after they purchase your old scrap pieces and it is all melted down and made into new up to date pieces.
