Staying Happy
I am an only child. Also, I was home-schooled for most of my student life, so I did not really experienced having friends, and crushes and other normal things that normal children experienced. I was just able to really experience how it is to be in a real school when I entered the university. It is also there where I met my husband. We got married upon graduating, and we now have a fourteen year old daughter and a 10 year old son. Unlike me, they go to normal schools, and they have friends coming over once in a while. I like it when their friends come over, because I personally wasn’t able to experience that until college.
In order to make their friends comfortable, I placed three sun umbrellas by the pool side, because my son and his friends love having small pool parties. Also, I have retractable awnings in our backyard porch, where my daughter and her friends are hanging-out most of the time. I want to make them comfortable as much as I can. I want their friends to feel that our home is also theirs, so they won’t be shy to visit as much as they want.
When I look at my children’s eyes, I know the happiness their friends bring to them. I want them to stay that way all that time.
