A Satisfied Grad Student

Computers and Hardware June 15th, 2010

Almost all of the graduating students had the same mixed emotions that I felt at the last months prior to graduation day.  Aside from examinations, case studies and defending them, as a graduating engineer student, we were also asked to submit different types of civil drawings.

It would have been easier if that was the only thing that we were asked to do.  Such was not the case.  Going to the City Engineer’s Office to have a copy of their draft was so tedious.  It was such a relief on my end when I heard my father’s friend who was a Draftsman by profession mentioned about this site where you can download house plans, AutoCAD drawings, detailed drawings and all the civil detail drawings that I would possibly need.

True enough, when I visited the website, everything I needed was there.  The structural detail drawings of everything else that is civil is there, such as; Rural Bridge Treatment, Conventional Lighting, Traffic Monitoring Site, Pedestrian Control Signal Installation Details, and more.  Inclusive in the site was the expenditure of a certain project, estimated number of days the project would be finished and timing of the construction.  The site was very helpful.  I was able to submit the projects on time and with flying colors too!
