Back up your home movie files by copying DVD’s
There are too many horror stories where families lose irreplaceable family videos through unexpected natural disasters or fires. When the family comes back home, they often realize that everything is replaceable except family photos and home movies, unless they were backed up and stored separately. If you have stored your family’s information in home videos, and have not backed them up through DVD copying, your information is at risk. Most families only have one set of copies and they store them all in the same location, their homes.
Most DVD copy software is compatible with your video camera or camcorder as well as your home computer, making it easy for you to download and copy the files, including the audio. Search for the best software based on your personal preferences. The process will be labor intensive since you have not backed up your data and are starting from scratch. Each piece of video media will need to be copied. Once you are caught up, the process is simple and will only take a few minutes for each video file as needed. As you are creating copy DVD’s, be sure that you are labeling the DVD’s so that you can find them easier at a later point. Use titles, dates and times for easy reference. Once you have completed the process using compatible DVD copy software, store the entire collection separately from your home in a safety deposit box.
