In past, electric fencing was considered dangerous. Many power failures led people to believe that electric fencing was useless and not reliable. With the passage of time that changed. However, there is always room for improvement so by eliminating the following mistakes, you can further improvement to your electric fencing.

  • Absence of various electrical measurement instruments like voltmeter, fence tester and other related stuff.
  • Not keeping an eye over the electric fence. Ignoring the fact that electric fencing needs proper attention and regular checking.
  • Tightening the wires makes them break. Using wires that are short in length also causes problem.
  • Keeping the distance between the wires to be too short.
  • Using electric current in barbed wire can result in death of a living being as they might get stuck in barbed wires and might not be able to free themselves.
  • Metallic items present in the electric fence posts will result in undesirable grounding.
  • Using low quality materials like electric fence insulators, mobile energiser, electric fence tape etc will eventually give off and, most probably, at the worst time possible.
  • Keeping the distance between the lowest wire and thick, long vegetation to be minimal.
  • Placing fences at short distances to each other will cause damage.
  • Not placing a warning signs on different locations.
  • Animals are not properly trained to stay away from the electric fencing.
  • Electric Poultry Netting and electric rabbit netting with high current flow that might harm small animals.
